The PA 1935A is a French pistol featured in Post Scriptum by the 21 Regiment d'Infanterie as a sidearm for some troops.
It was designed by Charles Petter, who also had designed the M1911 pistol, and won the Commission d’Experiences Techniques de Versailles, a wide ranging test to determine the new main weapons of the French military.
Because the production was slow, which started getting momentum after the testing in 1935-37, only a small amount of these pistols could be made before WWII (~ 11.000). But other countries and companies like the Swiss SIG bought licenses to produce the same gun under names like SIG Sauer P210.
Under German occupation about 24.000 PA 1935A pistols were made and marketed under the name Pistole 625 (f).
