Background[edit | edit source]

The Gewehr 43 (German for Rifle 1943) is a weapon featured in Post Scriptum. It is based on the earlier Gewehr 41(Walther) with the addition of a newer short-stroke piston gas system and easier production materials. The name was later changed to Karbiner 43 in 1944, with over 400,000 being built between 1943 and 1945. The new short-stroke piston gas system also allowed for the use of box magazines, replacing the stripper clips the earlier G41 used.

Strategy[edit | edit source]

Just like the Gewehr 41, the Gewehr 43 is best used for close to medium range engagements, and it excels in close quarter combat over bolt action rifles. Engagements at long ranges are tricky but not impossible, however, that role is best left to the Karabiner 98 Kurz.
